A small step for man...
Has anyone considered putting a flag in front of the LJ cam? That way we can get a general idea of how strong the wind is blowing.

A novel and great thought though, I wondered for a minute why we had not done this yet, but after reflection:
Due to the location, we would first have to move the camera angle to include something further away. Second, the wind by the launch is not really a good indicator of what is going on OTW. The Condos cause some weird wind currents that are not very indicative of the real conditions. I think the glider port site still has a more accurate and realistic glance at current wind conditions. |
