Lites
Roger at Sav-On Tackle just bought a dozen of them to see if they sell and work OK. I suggested that he drop one in a bucket of water and see how they do as well as being waterproof. You can check them out at the Promar seminar that will be at Sav-On Tackle next Wednesday at 6pm.
They obviously look like a Chinese product...so I'd be a little weary of buying too many at first. At 2 for $20...I think I'll stick with the LED light sticks until these new things are proven, and besides it looks like just one more thing to attach to your marker float or main line..."keep it simple stupid" is my motto...! Good Luck and Stay Safe this Season...!

tape
"Jim are those two stripes strips of reflective tape?"
Yes that is DOT or compiscuity tape. It is the type of tape used on Buses and big-rig trailers. It is sold at marine and auto stores...The best stuff is made by 3M but it's also the most expensive. Promar sells it in 6' rolls that alternate from red to silver every one foot. It's simple to cut and attach so you can make a custom design that will make it easy to find and identify your gear. I often add a small bit of reflective tape to the top of the light stick as in the previous post photo. IMHO I feel it’s the best way to help other boaters avoid your gear other than lighting it. The DFW would have been better served with this reg. change next year rather than adding an ID to our floats.

Promar makes a great hooping light, I used them for a few years until I came across the Trident LED light. The Trident light is actually a dive light but it's worked great for hooping.

For some reason, the Promar lights turn off after a while, at least mine do. Do the Trident lights stay on?

They are made of hard plastic material that almost looks like glass, I keep them in a tube that has a foam insert

Trident water tight
The trident lights stay lit. I hang one on my scuba tank for lobster dives around 100 foot deep and no leaks. Quick freshwater dunk with the rest of my gear after and never had corrosion. Batteries can be found in bulk for cheap on amazon. Replaced plastic hook with brass snaphook. Good light
