2/18 LJ - YT
Going into my 7th year kayak fishing and I feel like a visitor. The 5 day grind has been all to familiar the last 3 years. BUT - since i work for a bank there are plenty of monday holidays . Launched at 6am, jigged for sqd and filled up in 15 minutes. Set up on the inside around Valencia and had a strong current from 6-8 and then shut off. 7:15 first bite w/ dropper loop dragging over the bait location. 7:45 next bite and fishing completely shuts down around 8. If you caught fish today, you had sqd. Good to be back, hope to see the old crew on the water soon!

Good job guys. Nate, that's not the kind of bass you lip! I keep my hands clear of their mouths because I've seen how quick and hard they can chomp down.
Hey Jimmy, I'm really sorry about what happened today! Send me a message and I'll e-mail you the pics. |

Dont worry about it, in 8 years on the kayak that is the worst that has ever happened. We just cut it out with a razor knife and went and got a tetnis shot at urgent care. Wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me out. I know it seemed a little crowded but after being all over last year I realize how special a place La Jolla is and what a great group of guys who fish here. If you get a chance to post the pictures I would like to see them Thanks Jimi

Two of the three hooks from my 6x jr
And he's STILL SMILING! That's the fish he was fighting when we crossed paths. Jimi, you're a tougher man than me, that's for sure. Again, I'm very sorry. |
