LJ 1931
Figured I'd share this pic of the Jewel. Imagine having a kayak back then.

A kayak would be nice. What would be really great is to have been there then and smart enough to buy some of that available land in LJ.

"4669 East Talmadge Drive and, by the end of March, May and Miracle sold the house to Ridy and William Lindstrom for $9,500" What is this home worth today? maybe a cool $1m? http://www.trulia.com/homes/Californ...Diego-CA-92116 so what is $9500 in today's dollars back in 1931? In 2015, the relative value of $9,500.00 from 1931 ranges from $122,000.00 to $2,200,000.00. (according to https://www.measuringworth.com/uscom...ativevalue.php) so buying cheap in San Diego in 1931 was still pretty damn expensive. I noticed you could be a home in Mansfield OH for half that price at this time. http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/30s-homes.html bottom line...I need to get out more AND IMHO Real Estate is a fine asset that will protect you from the decline/collapse of fiat currency. |
