1st yellowtail, things keep getting better and better

Landed a 213lb thresher last week then my 10 month old daughter started walking on Thursday. Yesterday I decided to give it another try and land my 1st yellowtail on the kayak.

Making bait was easy mixed spanish and greenbacks. I decided to get away from everyone, they were all targeting threshers. Mid morning I got my first bite, three small runs and my first kayak yellowtail was on board. 21lbs on the dot, ten minutes later I was on again. This fish would not stop, emptied half of my spool in one run. Managed to get it to deep color, took another run and my 50lb spectra snapped. Fish was definitely bigger, tackle store manned up and replaced new 65lb spectra.

Needless to say I was stoked, and with no ice it was time to go home!

Congrats, man you're on fire. If I were you, I would buy some lotto tickets. Wait, on second though, don't do that cause I need to win it.

What brand of spectra broke? I am new to braid and I want to figure out what brand not to buy. I have read other posts dicussing this topic and want to see if your fate compares.

I was using white powerpro which I have on all my reels and never had a problem. It was 50lb, tackle shop owner could snap it with ease. Bad batch I'm hoping because now I'm worried about my curado 300 which has 40lb. They replaced it with 65lb izor spectra, never used it before but the owner told me this stuff is better than powerpro "I hope so".

Thanks for all the comments and info, Gabe.
