Any tips on mounting a Lowrance 3x on 2011 Malibu X-Factor?

I'm looking to buy a battery box this weekend, and get this thing put together, I'm just a little nervous, I've seen so many different set up's with PVC, I'm not sure what route to go.

I used a scotty mount with a lowrance FF adapter. Its mounted on the rear facing side of the hatch that can be used as a fishtanks if that makes sense. Ill look for a picture to help out.
