LJ 1-12-08
Hit up the shores today for the first time in a while. Pea soup fog in the early a.m., but it burned off quickly. Met Chuck while making bait. YoYo'd and had 2 baits down low for most of the morning for nada. Did jig up a sculbezon (weird looking fish that looked half cabby, half rattlesnake) and a squid egg sac. Waves were up a little, but manageable. No surface chop or wind, but some big swells did roll through and you could hear them pounding blacks. Beautiful day out.
Heres some pics of the day yesterday. This is actually a pic of the surf standing 10 feet from the launch. Thats how foggy it was. Sandy Jelly Sculpizon I think this was a squid egg sac? Last edited by steveooo; 01-13-2008 at 02:46 PM. Reason: Add Pics |

Thanks for the report, Steveooo. Much better than being stuck in class all day.

The last pic is a squid egg sack. I recommend to start dropping the squid jig down. If you get a couple the yellows might not be far behind!!!!!!!!!!

Great seeing you out there Steve. I'm sorry your drive down wasn't rewarded by that Blitz!
I was trying to explain to my wife how thick the fog was and your pic summed it up for me! Thanks! I was just thinking..... If the Mokai gets 8 hrs of operation to three gallons of gas at a top speed of 15mph........ you would not have to drive all the way down with a little 5 gallon adaption of the tank!! |
