Loooong sleigh ride

Like everyone else said, today was slowwww. I did manage to get my first sleigh ride though. 45 minutes long and pulling from in front of boomers to due west of the pier with some nice circles around the canyon. Pity it turned out to be the wrong kind of sea bass. The good news is he recovered on his own, probably because I was fumbling for a while trying to get the hook it. Unfortunately he took off headed towards the bottom of the canyon before that happened and the line snapped where I nicked it with pliers. The good news is I know my fg and Palomar knots work great.
Ended the day with one calico to avoid the skunk.Hope to get out next week too.

Looks like you had 45 more minutes of action than anyone else had.
Good job!

Awesome!

Better day than myself.

Way to get your first sleigh ride out of the way.

Nice looking black.

Giant sea bass, or black sea bass, or just BSB.

I am also using the Fg knot and is the best knot out there (IMHO), for connecting spectra to fluro. Pulled on a 600# sea lion and approx. 40# yellow for over an hour, w a buttoned down drag and the knot didn't fail...pulled the hook.
