Can we get a 70 pound class please?
Fun day on the pond Thursday. 74.2 pounds, 5 feet long, 32 inch girth, 12 inch tail width.
Freaked a few people out on the beach. Really looked like it came out of Birch Aquarium after being hand feed 14 inch Bonita for the past 15 years. And no that's not my gaff shot, the same wound is on the other side of this girl in exactly the same location. Yup, some spearo nailed her in a previous year and she somehow lived another day, thank God for me! Yes officially weighed in at Dana Landing in case anyone cares (and I know you do). No special tip to give anybody, just time on the water, right place, right time. Call me Lucky, I'll take it!!!!!!!! And just because if your reading this site you have the same freakish passion as I do, you'll understand if I told you after she was in my lap I kept fishing and caught what I thought was her big brother 5 minutes later. Turned out to be her 1st cousin Mr. Black. Safely revived and released of course. Then I PADDLED in since Marage Drive was rendered unusable due to this gal taking up the whole yak. Somehow it didn't bother me. Life is good, go getum boys and girls, there out there! |

I just can't believe my own eyes...
I've got some recipes of fishermansbelly.com for WSB, but none for feeding an entire army. |

Only thing better than catching this beast was eating her.
Used the White Seabass rack swimming with grilled potatoes from www.fishermansbelly.com If you like to eat your catch, this is the site for terrific recipes. Check it out and give one recipe a try, I've tried several and never been anything but ecstatic. Great site! Last edited by mckenzie; 01-30-2016 at 08:55 PM. |

Awesome fish of a life time and CONGRATS!!!!
I talked to some guys on a skiff the next day that saw you handle it. I was wondering when I would see/hear more. The real big boys always bite the mack. Again, good job.

Congrats on a super fish. I guess I hadn't thought of that particular reason for a Mirage Drive being totally useless, but it's one I think anybody would take.

That's a Donkey.
Were there any other Hooks found in her mouth ? Over the years I have found hooks from time to time in larger fish that managed to escape capture. Well Done.
