When will the weather let up?

I got a seriously false weather report from the fish tracker app and went out this morning at Dana Point. The water was puke green, wind was blowing 15-20 knots and the waves were simply unmanageable. I ended up trolling around the harbor with a small rapala for about an hour with no results.

Does anyone know when this is supposed to let up? I'm dying to get out again!

Can't have Baja water temps with out some Baja weather! This was a couple weeks ago in Dana Point. Light morning winds, 10-12 kts from the west in the pm and then an about face, hot 25-30mph offshore came out of nowhere.

Andy,
Did the AI get de-masted in that wind? or was the mast supposed to come off due to the wind?

Jim was solo in a TI, he took the mast down as it does create significant resistance heading into the wind. I reefed my sail as I had a trampoline full of loose items that would have bounced out for sure.Shane tacked in like a pro. I was pedaling in at 1 kt when Jim offered the tow and the fact that we were trying to beat the storm cell that was slowly creeping West and had already produced some lightning over the foot hills made accepting the tow a no brainer now if I had a tuna on board, I would have got in under my own power ............

Thank you for the replies. I was just wondering if this was a system that will move on, and if so, when it will be over. I can't seem to find an accurate weather forecast for a few miles off shore.
