8/06 AM
Launched a little late at about 5:45AM. Headed to the pier but found the mac/sardine school right past the reserve line. Caught a couple then saw some bait looking a little spooked. Headed over and almost ran over a YT boil. No hook up. Lots of greenies and dinos around the pier. Dragged one high and one low for nothing. Went over to the point and crossed Mike Knott doing the opposite. Bait all over. Ridiculous. Tried all my usual bottom spots for nothing. Fed the knothead and ended the day with a nice conversatin with Kurt on the way in. If it wasn't for the good people out there, LJ would be seriously sucking right now.

Love you guys and your optimism, but I am predicting more of the same. Water looked like it was getting worse. But you never know....

… I hear you Brad. I just had to see it 1st hand.
Very slow for the lamb crew today. Saw one PBer gaffing 1 baby yeller. Water 72 . The red is back. We’ve seen something interesting in the canyon working the bait balls from underneath. Quickly turned our dinner effort into surface lamb hunt but no luck. Tried for flatties at Blacks for a short while – nada. Saw C-Gray team working the sand, hope they had better luck. 4 reds and 1 goat in the canyon – barely dinner for families.

I'll probably be back at it Wed AM. Took yesterday off and it felt good. Went up to Torrey State Reserve for some hiking and the red water was everywhere. Dropped off some reels at Noah's tackle (great shop BTW) and got new jigs so I'm ready to rock if the bite ever turns on.

I took Sunday off... my back was killing me after four days in a row. But Saturday was a ZOO!
Is it always like that on Saturdays? I only heard of one YT, might be the same one mentioned above. Super tiny 5#...should have been thrown back but the guy wanted dinner and the wife wasn't going to let him come home with out it. :x
