launch 6am with my cousin(pro 14 olive) and one of my friends that wanted to try fishing of the kayak ( us pro angler 17 )Made bait just before 730. Head out about a mile off the kelp my line starts screaming wait for abit click it but didnt hook up. we continue pedaling out my friends line starts going and again no hook up. we headed back in for more bait took us about 30 mintutes to make bait. off we went and my line gets hit by a sea lion. Had my friend get his line out and we manage to get away from it drop lines again and my friends line gets pull. after the first missed i told him to wait longer before he puts in on strike. What seem like a minute long (10 seconds or so) told him to click it and he is hook. the fight seems for ever to my friend he wanted to hand it over to me but told him he had to do it on his own. he suck it up and held on we managed to land it his first yellowtail. went for 12lb and about 30 inches measured by dfg. count me 4 outings for 0 yellow my friend 1 outing for 1 yellow and he is hook on fishing. out by 12 good to add faces to username will be out this weekend again.
