Sunday Oct. 7

Did a bit of a later launch than normal and found a very high tide creeping even higher, with sets very tightly packed and a wee bit chilly. Launched and made it out with relative ease, headed on out to the bouy and found tons and tons and tons of lobster bouys but not too much in the way of bait. Headed on out and found tons of spanish and huge greenies in about 65', made about 15 and headed on out with Dan W. to huge boils of cuda hitting everything around them. Threw the surface iron for cuda after cuda, decided to let my iron sink a bit and WHAM! I was on and it was the right kind, got him up to color and saw a small YT, I was trying to decide if I should get the gaff or just get him up and release him, when he made the choice for me and swam off on his own! Oh well ran into Rod and Val and I believe I saw a Mr. Knott in the far off distance, wound up being a beautiful day out there with a bit of a mixed swell and minimal wind and a nice water temp of 68 degrees!?!? I got a feeling LJ is gonna pop wide open again soon so get out there!!!!

Hey Matt, too bad about the little one getting away, I haven't had a fish in so long I would eat any barely legal of the right kind. I got out yesterday for the first time since August. Bike training and work both ramped up and squeezed out my fishing time. Rode 104 miles today with BillO and Anthony, that kid can ride. We start our ride from SF to LJ Oct 20th, 600 miles in 7 days. I believe LJ will pop on the 28th. Hope to see you out there with another good fish. Dave
