LJ 7/16/2015 No tuna love
All the recent tuna posts got me inspired to give it a go. Launched early AM, made some nice greenbacks and headed for the horizon. Didn't start looking around until I was well past the 3 mile mark. Cruised by a couple of dead kelp paddies. Dolphin pods showed up but no tuna life. On the way back in, I circled back on the kelp paddies and started to meter bait. Looked down and it was a yellowtail aquarium. Instant hookups, but first two busted off. Next one was a real lunker until three sea dogs showed up out of nowhere and had breakfast courtesy of me. I got the jaws back, it was a quality unit, oh well. While they were distracted eating on it, I sent another bait down for another instant hookup. Landed that one and headed in.
When the bumpy weekend WX passes, I'll give it another go. Last edited by PescadorPete; 07-19-2015 at 03:30 AM. |
