San Diego Bay Advice
I have salt fever and want to drag the P.A. -12 to San Diego Bay.
The Butts should be spawning soon... I need suggestions as to where to launch and which end to fish Also, is making Macs possible? at the receivers or? Maybe I should trade lunch and beers for a fellow local to show me around? I have fished the bay in a boat, but never a Kayak Good tides? hate to get dragged to the Nado's... Thank you for your ideas, Jeff |

Halibut are in the bay right now doing their thing. Bass are very active as well. There is tons of bait in the also. I've seen tons of Mack's around the receiver and NI also around the pile-ons at the bridge. I've caught a few on the shoals as well on small swimbaits. Sand bass are hit or miss at night right now as well, but the small ones are 2.25#! Bass are plentiful on the shoals as well as the Tideland area right now as well.
I would launch from Tideland Park- it's a little more fishy right now. A lot of bass and small butts. Or SI (Shelter Island) is a good spot. A lot of bass and bigger butts. Good luck out there.
