Baby Killer on the Loose at Gonzaga Bay

From shore near RobMoney and Mako's place down in Gonzaga Bay this weekend...I was throwing a 4" YoZuri for Orangemouth...not sure how this little guy/gal swallowed the treble but it did and one barb slipped in between the gill slits. Like in the movie Saw, there was blood everywhere. The other treble swung around and went through its stomach. I figured I'd turn a very bad thing into a Hobie advertisement. RIP little chickee...

Treble hooks can do their job too well. After getting "hand cuffed" (one hook in me n one in the fish) to a thrashing mackerel I take the front hook off most plugs and swap out to singles on bigger plugs. They still seam to get bit fine. Mike

Well howd it taste? Best chance to sample is one you accidentally killed. Perfect size for mojarra frita w pez gallo.

Im begging you. Las Encantadas is not in Gonzaga Bay. Gonzaga Bay is a geographical feature like Punta Bufeo is and Isla San Luis Gonzaga is.

Anxious for more pix and werds from the trip.

Ha! I blurted out Gonzaga so most would get the general area...my apologies. We did fry up a Rose Snapper...yummy. I have a cool whale encounter video'd that I've got to somehow post up...

Short trip for me. Didn't have much time so I stayed around Pta. Bufeo and to the south throwing and trolling for pelagics and sometimes shallow for Cabrilla. No monstas for me. Got a couple of decent Cabrilla that were released. Plenty of barries on the corner. The other guys are still there so hopefully conditions changed. My (4) days were smaller tidal changes at mid-day. Slack at day break AND dusk which i know hurt my chances. Minimal wind, beautiful weather. Jim
