NPH Outgoing 3/16
Arrived at the Coast Guard station around 7, launched and focused most a my day fishing the main channel. 2nd cast and I was slammed on the drop, felt bigger than a spotty, probably 3+lb calico or sand bass, naturally I forgot to check my drag and she came unbuttoned after 15 seconds or so. That was the only fish that I connected with today. I had tons of hits today on 4 in. swimbaits but they were only tearing up the tails and when I switched to 3 in. baits the bites completely shut off. Talked with a few other guys on kayaks and they all said it was pretty slow for them as well. There was definitely action out in the water, I just think the tide killed it for me today. I bet incoming tide is going to be stellar for anyone out there.

Bummer on the short bites. When you switched to the 3" was it the same color? Weird that they would only bite the big one.

Yeah same color. Just a scaled down version of one of the popular brown and orange calico colors from Big Hammer. The larger profiled lure must have really ticked em' off.
