Heading out Friday 2-27
Not sure if I'm going to Newport or Alamitos to get out to the Pacific but have room on the trailer if anyone wants to join or meet up. I'll be leaving early in the AM so I can be on the water for the morning bite..

White Island is the land of short bass. Mostly sandies. Takes patience and effort to find a legal. Plus you have to dodge the ferries and an occasional barge. Sounds fun right? We manage to have some. Mainly we're going there because of the south wind that's been forecast for the morning. The area we fish is protected from said wind.

Shit it was hard going made it to the oil rig got bait and nothing on that was fishing a swimbait at the bottom looking for a halibut but only got a sandbass let her go as she looked skinny and I don't like em
The ff said we did 14 nautical miles...really made me love my Trident 15 when that chop came in. Fun day on the open ocean |

Sounds like a long ass day for little love. Bummer.
It was slow for us, but we each pulled a couple of legals. I posted a report, if you want the details.
