Sluggin'
very little kayak traffic today, in fact only saw two others. Pierre and I launched at dark planning on hitting some productive rockfish reefs to try and jig some mossies. Worked a solid ridge all morning for nada, didn't see any of the 6 PBs hook up either. Made our way to another solid reef on the inside and my FF was stacked with yellow squiggles. armed with only two poles and a gaggle of heavies, we began to wind our sore arms into oblivion.
nice little school with many big models, hooked a bunch, lost a majority to the thick bull kelp. took me 25 minutes to free this shouldery toad from the bull, but after some strategic toying and the help of a sea lion, managed to pop him off. Haven't been hook and line fishing in a while as I've been mostly diving, but i think i sparked my fishing stoke a wee bit. what a gorgeous day on the water. wind was dead and the sun was out. Very blessed to have LJ in my backyard fish went 29 and 33

SWEET CATCH on the ! So much for that pesky wind warning!
Do you know what the water temp is? I'd trade your sore arms for my bad back any day of the year! Out of curiousity don't you use 2-speeds for the yo-yo irons? I own 2 TLD 20's (one for kayak fishing), an original Beastmaster 12/50 (=TLD30) and an Avet MXJ Raptor (65# braid and yes part of my LR GEAR but wouldn't hesitate to take out in my kayak to use on pigs like your's) just for that reason.
