Irvine lake 11-12
I've been heard fishing at Irvine lake is slow since they open
But I went there yesterday launch my outback at 6:30 then went to west shore tried bait for one hour but no luck so I move to sierra cove, using bait and jigs ......nothing I mean they didn't even nibble I talked to boaters no one catch anything I didn't see any shore fisherman land fish eighter So I started trolling at 9 am to 12, I end up catch 2 brown trouts and 2 basses released And I hooked really big one but my reel was small size one, 6lb line is almost out so I had to tighten drag and turn my kayak to follow the fish but line broke up for 10min fight .... I had 5 strikes all of em at between boat dock and trout island Looks like brown trout like flicker shad fire tiger and all bass hooked up bubble gum pink.....I always use smallest one Irvine lake has lot of fishes I saw lot of school at my ff but they don't looks like biting mod water temp was 65 so any day soon they'll start bite It was nice day I avoid skunk but 3 hours foot pedaling wasn't easy (I wish I have revo) |

IRVINE
Check out my friend Diana Cortez from VCGURLZ Fishin Sun Face Protectors put her Phenix Elixir rod to a tuff test with XXX IZORLINE last week. Diana hooked up to a 6'+ foot sturgeon and fought it for 2 hours, The water level might be low but that don't mean the fish will not fight..
(Check out her cool site, she has even sponsored some kayak events and makes custom one-off buff orders with your logo! She has made me several, with excellent customer service! http://vcgurlzfishn.com

She did pretty good holding onto it for that long. Lots of patience to be sure.

Nice catch
I haven't been there yet with my kayak. I haven't been motivated enough to spend $25 from the reports. Wish they stocked stripers! Last time I went after a stocking I got skunked, but then again I was fishing from shore. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

You all should try Lake Cuyamaca in the San Diego Mnts. sometime. 6 bucks to fish, 5 to launch but they will make you get your yak washed down before launching. either 5 or 10 bucks, forget which but am thinking 5. Beautiful lake, you may see deer, turkeys and an occasional eagle. Worst thing about the lake is the wind usually picks up around 10 or so.
