Tony, I missed seeing Mr Patrick's waiting to launch coupled with these landings. Epic again.

I've got a Team Sewer Song of the Day:

"I tried to landing my kayak, but then I got high..."

I think I need to get high, and watch this video over again, and again.

Thanks for the entertainment. Yani

What happens at the landing does not stay at the landing

That video got my heart racing big time....

I noticed how Tony didn't help any of his kayaking "friends" get their kayaks on to the beach, but instead, he decided to keep the camera rolling. Thanks for the entertainment Tony!!!

That's how I do it

Jorge.
That how I do my beach landings too. My very first beach landing on my PA was there at San Onofre with a big shore break. Got slammed on that one and broke my paddle. I rolled two out of three landing at La Jolla
I guess that just come with owning a PA. Now I just pack everything down and expect to go swimming.
Maybe next time I'll just jump in the water n the surf zone and swim in with the kayak. At least that way it won't flip and get sand everywhere.

Tony Great production on the video. At least you made it in high and dry

As I start this video up and the song comes on...my daughter runs in and says "oh you don't want to hear this song Pop, it's bad..."

Brotha Tony just keeps on filming while Greg's $2k in gear sloshes around in the sand...

My Tip of the Day:
If you're facing shore and Tony's free eye gets big (the other eye is in his camera), look over your shoulder because there's a big arse wave about to hit you...he won't warn you, he's just trying to get THE shot with one of his twelve cameras...so he can show the world!!!

In his defense, Tony will grab your paddle and seat cushion on their 14th wash up the beach. And go film the next guy while you are saving his yak from being dragged back out to sea.

eeeshhhhhhh!!!!! no bueno.....hard to watch perfectly good gear get tossed. hope it wasn't too bad, did he get his Gopro back?

And this speaks to the repeatedly overlooked major need for San Diego to step up and pay to build a kayak angler only dock with greenie bait barge and beer bar that extends past the reserve line and has one of those flat escalators like at the airport to get our gear out there!

We need to rally at City Hall!!!!!!!

That works but you can throw it all out the window when your dealing with a PA. Totally different animal. To me landing the PA is my favorite part of the day!

OMG!! I actually agree with Danny, who would have thought.

I like to build up speed parallel to the waves as I watch them build and then aim the kayak towards the back of the wave. Once I feel like I'm close enough I turn the rudder quickly and ride the back of wave in. This way I have already build up speed and I'm watching the waves from the side instead of the back. Once in the white wash I would pull the rudder up and jump out in 3-4 feet of water and hold kayak up not to damage the drive.

Now my success rate has been great making it in but still make silly mistakes like forgetting to pull rudder or like last week thinking I'm in 2 feet when really I was at 6 feet.

Shit....you guys are just a bunch of regular surf hero's ! Hey momo...are you another one of those 99.99999 percenter's?

I urge you to go to county on a decent surf day, take that gopro and film yourself and your technique.....by the way didn't you have a I almost died story coming in thru the surf just recently?

Bottom line is we all roll every once and awhile, whether we choose to admit it or not. Contrary to popular belief I do make it in without rolling most of the time. We all have different styles and preferences, there is no 1 right way of doing it. I just choose to show you guys when it all goes wrong.

That video is freaking awesome, love it! !

Here's my pic from 2006 TQ, Iraq. We knew Chuck was coming to take a picture with each platoon in our company, so i made this sign with some scrap wood, spray paint, and red reflective tape.

Appears someone from my platoon posted it online. Can't see my face, since I'm on the seven ton holding my sign.
