Montona De Oro 9/9/14
Launched around 6:30 with Dogpound and headed to some fishy looking area and noticed a lot of bird activity as well as boats in the area. Fished around them for a couple hours for nothing except a stripe down our backs.
Moved in a little shallower then they were and started to produce slow picking at some rockfish in the 90-120 FOW zone. Then at around noon decided to call it and start our way towards the launch making a few stops and landing a few more aggressive lings in the 30-50fow zone. Dogpound got a few nice fish, my big fish of the day was a 6lb red tied with the two lings that I kept. Still have more video to go through and get pictures from but tired of looking at a computer screen

That red was a fattie. Sure tacos were made for many!

I camp at Montana de Oro often when I'm headed up to Big Sur. I haven't fished it though. It's a great family destination - pristine tide pools, great hiking and a protected cove.
Nice reds.... |

That's a beautiful red. How's the launch there?
