Scotty Power Puller and ProAngler install

I received the Scotty Swivel Mount yesterday and it made for a perfect clean install of the Scotty Power Puller. When the puller is not being used, your left with only this small plastic base on the yak. It seems to be low enough to be out of the way when standing or sitting.

The Swivel mount raises the puller up to just the right hight to clear the gunnels of the PA.

Nice and clean install...Time to get some more Crabs!
Come on Lobster Season...!

Nice!
How many pulls do you think you can get before the battery runs low?

...and, what size battery?

Puller?

IN2DEEP
I didn't get all 'nerdy' and check the battery Res. Min. and the amperage draw of the puller...but... I did buy the biggest PWC battery that West Marine had (PWC 26). It fits through the rectangular tackle hatch and slips right under the seat. The battery can operate in any position, it weighs about 21 pounds and it has 47 Res. Min.
I've only had to pull 3 to 6 nets each time out before I had enough crabs, and when I recharged the battery it was flashing green in just a few minutes... I don't think I'll ever draw the battery down even with a drop of 5 nets and 4 sets in deep water. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've done 4 sets of 5 nets in a long time!

Ok, I'll get a little nerdy. Quick math says that battery should last about 23 minutes of hard use under maximum load (~25a) on the puller. I doubt you are continuously loading the puller that hard, so it should last much longer under normal use.

Puller?

According to the Scotty catalog it pulls at 120' a minute. The ropes i generally use for Crab are about 125' long...so it takes about a minute for the machine to pull them up.
I hope that helps the numerically minded...
I never thought of it like that before...all that work to get out there and then about an hour and a half soak time on the nets and then the time traveling back in...all that effort for three to six minutes of actual net pulling.
