Yes, you can launch from bonita cove from the bonita cove parking lot on the north end of mariners basin, or from the mission point parking lot on the south end which will be closer if you intend to fish outside of that general area. Bring some heavy duty beach wheels.

The other day I launched from mission point, went to the bait barge, and then paddled out through the channel into the open water off mission beach. Swells were bigger than I expected so I didn't stay out there too long before going back into the bay.

Most of the parking lots in the area will close at 10pm so check signs and don't get shut in.

Ditto. Park early before the beach lots get full and cars start flowing into the bayside lots. Longer walk to the water than say behind the Bahia so yes on the wheels.
