LJ Parking citation
Fished Lake La Jolla yesterday afternoon. Beautiful weather with a nice downhill current and little wind that went flat calm around 5:00 pm. Heard on the beach that a couple of YT were caught but didn't see it with my own eyes.
Now about the parking citation. I was parked north of the life guard station in the public lot. I received a citation under CVC 22502, which refers to parallel parking more than 18" from the curb. The Remarks section says "facing wrong way". I was facing head-out in the first row for ease of loading and unloading my kayak. Has anyone run into this before? Is the paking lot posted as head-in parking only? I usually arrive in the dark, so I have never tried to read the sign at the entrance. Thanks for your help on this. |

No idea about signs posted, I will check this weekend though. I'm sure if you fight it (take pictures), and show that you were parking in the best interest of others to "utilize" the park, you can walk away.

I read somewhere (DMV), a long time ago that if the parking spaces are angled then you must park in head first with the " flow" of the lane. Kind of makes sense.
However, that is a pretty "picky" ticket. |
