headed down to newport harbor this morning and hit the water around 630. got an opportunity to fish with AmishEd. hes a super cool and very knowledgeable and generous. fishing was very productive. i believe Ed pulled in 20+ sandbass which trumped my 2 but beats getting skunked any day. learned a whole heck of a lot and cant wait to get back out there and put in some more hours. sorry for the lack of pix but i forgot my dry bag and didnt want to risk killing my phone. overall a pretty cold and wet morning but who cares when you're catching fish!

It was definitely a fun morning and good hanging out. Hot baits were 4" Flurrys in Full Throttle and Greenback and the slip jig w/ grass hopper skirt and Red Bone Paddlerz. I got the first 8 in the first 20min. Then sunrise came and the sand bass bite dwindled to a slow pick. I had quite a few spotties in the mix too. Thanks for the kind words Adam. Looking forward to fishing with you again.
