1st WSB 6/1/07am
Got out early, saw Dorado50 loose his fish to the dogs and next thing I know I'm on big time. I let the suspect pull me around for about 10 minutes or so,then when a saw a knothead surface about 20 yards in front of me, I knew I better tighten the drag and get him in or else I'll loose him the the furbag. Quickly got him in by gaffing it in the head. He bit the deep greenie. I was so pumped when I saw the size of him. Weighed it at Fisherman's landing 30.6 lbs on the scale. Thanks Paul for taking the pics. I would like to extend a sincere thanks to 4 guys who have shared knowledge about how to catch these fish, Dorado50, Madscientist, Pat, Lamb. Thank you |

Yeah, that IS a great photo! Unfortunately for me taking your picture was the highlight of my day. Still, it was pretty cool seeing you paddling in with the whopper; honored to be of service. Great job, buddy. Oh, and thanks again for the bait!

One trick with the dogs:
The bigger ones have learned enough to know the sound of a clicker and the site of a bent rod. Get the clicker off ASAP and keep the rod tip down, or even in the water if possible. Has worked for me in the past... http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/showthread.php?t=822
