Going out for the first time in my kayak.
Going out on my maiden voyage Friday in Huntington harbor, after a quick stop at OEX. I will be targeting spotties, and halibut. Can you guys please give me some pointers? My yak does have a FF/GPS. Where can i launch?
Thanks guys! |

Good luck on your maiden voyage! Keep heads up for boaters/wakes and leash everything you want to keep. WEAR A LIFE JACKET.
I have no idea where to launch at there, but I'm sure someone who does will chime in. For spotties I've seen some recent posts here the guys are having good luck with plastics, grubs and such. For halis, your best bet is live bait. Plenty of great threads here on hali hunting. Plastics will work as well, try scampis and big hammers. There's a SoCal beach water pollution advisory out right now because of the recent short rain. There may be more rain coming Thurs/Fri so keep that in mind.
