It doesn't look that great to me. The deck layout looks similar to other Malibu decks but has only 2 rod holders, and like some other models the top rails are too narrow so there's no real good places to add extras. http://www.malibukayaks.com/catalog/...ber-fish-dive/. Hopefully it's a dry ride like they claim. It's a flat bottom yak so it may not track well, but is probably nice and stable.
As far as coin, well it's from a place that sells a $15 bucket w/gamma seal lid (at Amazon) for an insane $47.95 http://www.malibukayaks.com/5-gallon...it-bucket.html so it's probably worth waiting for a blem sale to pick one up instead of paying $900 http://www.smithfamilytackle.com/kay...ber-fish-dive/

Looks like it would be more of a Lake or shallow water boat.
Is it a new design or one they haven't marketed much to the Ocean going crowd? |

It's designed for new yakkers and old people, it's a barge. http://www.malibukayaks.com/blog/cat...odel-xcaliber/

Andy has a prototype at SSB so maybe he can provide some more insight on how the boat performs and all for those interested.
