Since the launch is down. I just got ready in the parking lot and wheeled the yak down to the water. I got in around 0630. I made my way out and my plan was to go for rock fish. On my first drop I take a big strike. This thing takes line and pulls my yak around. I get a couple of cranks on him and pop goes the line. When I reeled it up all that was left was about 10 inches of line from the rock fish rig and all the line looked like it was rubbed with sand paper. I'm guessing shark. I re rigged and worked different spots. I ended up taking home 4 rock fish and one sheepshead. Weather was nice and flat with a light breeze at times.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a shark. Their scales will rough up your line like that. They were pretty thick a couple weeks ago for me. The 2 that didn't chew me off came up tail wrapped and a few kicks away from breaking my leader.
