My season opener
Ended up missing the bug season opener because I was out of town for 2 straight weeks. Nothing like getting text messages of people's hauls while i'm 2500 miles away.
Finally had my chance to go out and put out the bat signal to the regular crew. Not a one could make it. Didn't stop me. Almost didn't get a chance to go out when a couple of gulls picked apart my bag of bait and took off with about 1/2 of it. Went out with a lot less bait and with each bait cage not packed as much as I'd like. Did 5 sets with 4 nets in about 2.5 hours. Keeper bug #7 coming in on the very last net of set #5. Went thru about 30 bugs to get my limit and lone crab (I wish I scored more crab!!!). Talked to a bunch of other yakers and a few private boaters who weren't so lucky. I should have bought a lottery ticket. Nice start to my season.
