San Diego Bay 8/5/13
It seems to me the Halibut bite has definitely slowed down In the SD Bay. the water temp in the channel has dropped considerably in the last couple of weeks. Maybe that's the reason. Hopefully it'll heat back up soon. After getting skunked last time out, I managed to hook up with this barely legal Halibut (22inch) On a 7 inch grub with a 2oz Phenix jig head. It's Been good, this is the smallest one this season. I'm not ready for it to end. I have faith that it's going to pick back up soonmail.jpg.

Water temp has dropped with the last 2 swells. I see it turning to warmer conditions again soon. That should get the bite going a little better before long.

It was a sparkly yellow grub, Kelp. I sure hope so, Dirty. I would like to get one of those 30 pounders that a few people have been catching in the bay.
