LJ PM SHIFT 4-17-07
Met up with Brad, paddled out, bait was somewhat tough, couldn't make any... brownish water... lots of birds milling... Around 6:20pm off the face of the hotel birds piled up, some Pber blazed through, saw some surface action... another panga pulled up, they landed ~8lb YT... I decided to go to the surface Iron, and blind cast... on my 3rd cast, got a minor backlash, picked it through, wind up... FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!!! A sealion was working the area, the panga barely got theirs in the boat... I missed the gaff a couple times, as this fish was zig-zagging like a bonito... finally got the gaff, and seconds later, the Dog surfaced right next to my kayak...! Fish inhaled my Taddy 45.... first YT off a surface Iron.... 17lbs 15 ozs.. 6:20pm 94ft water temp 61.5º Vis >5ft Dinner is served... Chris Adi, how about a front page!!! |

What a great story... with pics to match! That Hamachi is making me hungry! Thanks for the great post, some of us were starting to wonder if anything was still alive out there.

My photobeyatch skills are improving. Or maybe it's your camera.
Hope you remembered to save me the carcass.
