Still down and out on the halibut......DP 06-24
It seems like I cant catch a break. On the water at 1 off at 6. Bait barge had nothing but anchovies bur i went for it anyway. Got 3 shorts. 1 in the harbor 1 off the brakewall and 1 drifting the beach. almost got rolled by a wave that came out of nowhere while I was drifting the beach, but I cannot complain ended the day with 3 short halibut 2 legal sand bass (C&R) and about 6 croaker

The beach is a nice place to fish except for those sneaker sets, I've had a few sneak up on me.

Putting in your time...it's coming and when it does, you'll have quite a bit of experience added to your game. Always take a Sabiki and try and make the greenies. Nothing better for the larger mommas. Good luck! Jim

Sorry if this is a tangent off your post Josh.. but are there any pro tips to using the sabiki to catch greenies? I know it's probably a very silly question for most of you, but do you look for certain things on a fishfinder? as far as open water, depth, structure, etc... I know if you see a bait ball, then obviously drop on it.. but what if you don't? Do you just sit in one spot and keep dropping down at spots around the kayak? thanks..

take one of those croaker and pin a #1 treble through its nose. 4oz slider above an 18" leader and bounce it along in 15-20ft of water.
good luck next time!
