I used to fish LJ in a Mainstream Jazz (9 ft) kayak.

Depends on conditions and which 10' kayak. There are days a 10' boat will be more than enough. There are other days where I wouldnt do it. Any wind or slop and youll be hating life and wishing you had a 12'+ boat, especially if it is a cheapie kayak.
