Surf Launching and Landing a Hobie
Ive seen a few posts recently from people that are hesitant to try La Jolla, because they are unsure about their first surf launch. I also see alot of posts from people inquiring of how to surf launch and land a Hobie.
Since a surf landing is usually more difficult than a surf launch, I went to La Jolla today and made a little tutorial of how I do it it my Hobie. Hopefully it will help someone out, and give them the courage to try the Big Water and chase after some bigger fish Steve |

Conditions were simply awesome today.... Fishing was only good for a couple of Boccacio which will live to be caught another day, but the whales, dolphin and crystal clear water made for a great day to be out on the PA.

Is it always like that or was it just a fluke? looks like a great place to launch
especially since I'm somewhat gimpish from a total knee replacement and the other one is going to get done real soon.....H

This just confirms that with a lot of time on the water snd much practice regular people can survive the punishing ocean.
Glad you had everything strapped down. |
