Hali fishing better before noon or after?
My dad is busy sunday and i want to fish cabrillo but i got a choice of going early in the morning or around 12 or afternoon. Ive only fished there until 2 pm since thats when the winds pick up but sunday is glass calm. To anyone thats fished there, what time would be better to go? Afternoon is more of a possibility i might get him to take me early in the morning but im not sure if he will. Anyone else fishing there this sunday?
Oh and anybody want to carpool from northhollywood to cabrillo well split cost of gas !

evenvent times the evening bite can be killer. Don't count on glass calm at cabrillo, even if the forcast says so.

I've caught them as early as 6am and as late as 4pm. The hardest time to catch them is when the wind is cranking in 10kts + range, that usually occurs between the time you get on the water and them time you get off the water So far the forecast for Sunday is looking good but like Greg said, don't count on the forecast to be accurate. Whenever the wind is blowing in the 10kts + range you'll see the lifeguards rescuing yakkers that get caught 2 miles from the launch. If you're not used to or prepared to paddle in headwinds stay close to shore.....cabrillo winds are no joke.

Even if you CAN fish in windy conditions, do you really want to?
It is supposed to be fun, not work and stress. You are better off hitting it early. Less wind and lower boat traffic. |

Winds suppost to kick in around 2 ill be lucky if i get there at 8. I might just buy bait to save time. Ive been stuck in cabrillo winds and its not fun. Had to stop and rest by a mooring an and the bait barge then take a detour behind the lane victory . Thanks guys see u on the water.
