My first lobster
First off im new to the Kayak thing, been doing alot of reading on the site and im stoked on all of the information! Really enjoying my new (to me) purchase. Never hooped... ever... first time doing any kind of fishing from the yak. I decided to go to mission bay harbor since I have no kayak buddies and wanted to stay close. My sister and nephew hung out on the rocks while I hooped. First pull had 4 shorts and one keeper, not much action after that. As soon as I got back on land, the DFG came out of nowhere to check all of my stuff. I was legal so no worries there. Anyways just wanted to thank BWE and its members for all of the good information! Cant wait to go out again!

Awesome job on the first legal one and first time hooping.
My very first hooping experience was one year ago. I went like 5 times and got 2 for the season. I have only been kayak fishing for 14 months now. There is a fun learning curve that gets more fun each time you go out. This year I have gone five times and have 21 legals. I have also caught many fish including one WSB. You are right about what you can learn on these forums. Time on the water tho, is by far, the best teacher .... |
