If you purchase one of these hoist make sure you add a safety line from bow to the stern of the kayak, this will keep the straps from sliding off should one side be higher than the other.

One of the Hrabor Freight reviews says the weight limit on the hoist is 44lbs


The one that was originally mentioned has a limit of 100lbs.

I will also add two rigid hooks w/straps to the ceiling beam to help me better at night.
