Help making a bait tank?

Hey guys, i got the small 4.7 gallon gamma vittles vault to make a bait tank. I got a few questions that im stuck on though. First off is is it ok to pump the water through the top of the bait tank? I see people run the bildge hose through the top of the bait tank but i doesnt it need to be on the bottom? Im thinking i could run the bildge through the middle of the bait tank so it will be shooting into the water is that ok? Also for the drainage, some people make a big hole and put a fence over it. I dont like the idea so would it work if i drill small holes along the top of the bait tank for the drainage? It holds 4.7 gallons so i want to drill the holes at the 4 gallon mark, this would be enough to hold about 15 dines right? I can post pictures with the markings if that would help. Thanks

The key is to circulate the water how ever you get it in. I have mine comming in from the top now it was on the side about half way down. I noticed that the larger dines would die off fast. Since I moved it to the top Ihave bait live all day.

Gonna give that a try. Me and the boys have had similar issues with the larger dines going belly up within a hour of two of catching them. I never thought that moving the water flow up would make a difference.

Can you post pics?
