Fishfinder
Im trying to decide on what fishfinder to get to replace a Lowrance elite-4x dsi fishfinder. I'm looking at the hummingbird 597ci hd di, hummingbird 788ci hd, Lowrance elite-5, or the Lowrance elite-5 dsi. Which do you guys recommend?

The Humminbird 597 HD Di is what my brother and I have and it is EXCELLENT. I could not recommend any unit higher. They are very easy to use, the image quality is outstanding and their customer service and support is first rate.

I've got an older model Hummingbird gps/ff which has been solid for me. I unexpectedly flipped the yak in some rough water about a year ago and thought it would be toast. I put the hair dryer on it, sprayed all the connections and it's still running as usual to this day. It might be good to know what each says about their units being waterproof/resistant...?
