Lake Cuyamaca kayak limit & 4 lb Rainbow
Went to Lake Cuyamaca early on Easter morning with my kayak and light rods with 4 lb test line. Paid a decontamination fee of $5 that is good for multiple visits (if you ask them). Trolled gold Mepps and Panther Martins. Caught a limit of 5 trout within a couple hours, including one Rainbow that was 4 lbs and 22 inches. Glad I had a big net! Nice people there, saw lots of wild turkeys and deer on the way up, great place to go. Other folks were catching trout on inflated nightcrawlers. Made it home early with time to spare.

Good eating!
Yup, the fillets from the big one looked like the salmon you buy at Costco. It was delicious for multiple meals, with lemons from our tree and some Teriyaki sauce.

That's awesome I've fished Cuyamaca many, many times I've never seen anyone catch a trout that large. GREAT JOB! I thinks we just might go fishing up there soon lol Most of the time it's super windy there were you pushed around or was it calm?

I agree 100%. I've only been there once, but when I think of eating trout, I think of those pink filets from Cuyamaca bigguns!
