Eagle Cuda 350 settings

Whats up guys. Just wondering if there are any specific settings you guys use for the cuda 350. Mine are pretty much whatever the standard settings were at out of the box.

So far, I have only been able to mark bait and kelp stringers. Dont know what the bottom structure differences are, or if there are other fish under me. I figure the settings arent right, or the way I mounted the transducer has air bubbles or something of that matter. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Aloha.

Turn your sensitivity way up and look for worms and boomerangs. Those are most likely what you want to catch.

carry the user manual when you're out fishing and play with the setting while on the water, if you screw something up just do the factory reset. You can navigate through every screen and every function and feature but until you get on the water you're not going to know if that's the feature you want.

I've had mine for a little less than a year now and I'm just now starting to tap into some of the features.

Get rid of the fish symbol icon and use the arches

use your waypoint markers to mark locations where you've caught fish(you have to be in the GPS mode or split screen to use this feature)

use the tracking feature to see how you're drifting(if you drift and fish). I've caught some of my largest halibut by using the tracking feature.

Again, the best advise I can give is to carry the book with you while you're on the water. Go to staples/office depot and buy a pack of those tiny Post It tabs and earmark the pages that provide details about the features that you're interested in, it'll make it easier to find those pages when you're on the water.

So far, mine has treated me good. I too spent time learning it's limitations. Get out on the water and just watch it. It is like anything else, the more you use it, the more you will understand it.

I used mine for the first time yesterday and I had the same issue. The symbols I saw were fish... I was able to see the depth and for the most part the stringers you're mentioning... I guess the more I use it and fiddle with it, the more familiar ill get with it... I thought I had screwed it up after rolling the kayak on my first attempt at la jolla yesterday, but I managed to salvage it... Thank god. I was a bit anxious and jumped the gun... Rude awakening and a lot different than launching out on the bay... Even as flat as it was. I think next time ill stash the head unit in the bucket until I make it out...

I went out to LJ yesterday too. I think I need to remount the transducer. It doesnt seem to give clear chart print outs. The bottom display isnt solid sometimes and is kind of broken up. I was able to mark some ledges in the canyon and even had some specks above the bottom. I dropped bait and got bit so I figure it was working. However even if there were no marks I still got bites. I guess I need to start with the transducer and work from there. Thank you for everyones advice.
