MLPA google maps overlay
I have a little hobby site for fishing stuff. I just mapped out some MLPA zones in LJ/San diego as a test.
Is there anything like this out there on the web where you can view the zones with the precision of google maps or something similar? I wanted to ask before I went and spent the time converting all the coords and zone types for the rest of CA. http://fishncatch.com/mlpa-maps |

The DFG's mobile MPA site is overlaid on Bing maps.
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/m/MPA/Map Disclosure: some people are uncomfortable accessing the mobile site from their phones while Location Services are enabled, figuring that the agency is compiling geolocation data, either anonomized or personally identifiable. It seems feasible, but given the agency's other entrenched inefficiencies due to chronic underfunding, if they were it is probably going into a black hole. |
