Dana Point - Dumb luck strikes again

Went to Dana Point to chase the whales. Found one of these Halibut things swimming in 45 feet of water. I didn't want him to get eaten by a whale so I took him home.

This guy was the only bite for me all day.

Another note: Saw a whale up close, maybe a little too close, that thing went into 45 feet of water almost into the kelp. Big SOB.

Nice Butt Matt!

Whales - yep, saw one this year in LJ going right through the kelp in ~40'. I can only imagine what the Calico's we're thinking seeing that guy swim by. Saw one whale last week surfaced and heading right for me within 100', went down and never surfaced again. All I could do is get out of that general area, not knowing just where he may surface!

Nice butt you got there Matt; it was nice and thick.

I was more than happy to be your photo b*tch. I think you owe me more $$$ for that lucky rod you got from me.

* Hey, if you catch a 25lb+ halibut soon, we'll start calling you the "Darkhorse" of Fontana.
