I used to take my dog local skiff fishing on my 14 ft skiff.
I'll be honest: I quit doing it because she would get too seasick. She hates seeing me go off alone, but it beats me watching her throwing up, shivering, and getting the shits on my deck. I've never taken my dog kayaking. Unless your fishing lakes or enclosed waters I wouldn't even consider it. Jim |

Dogs love to go any damn place with thier people so that sucks about the sea sickness. I have been thinking about taking my dogs on the kayak with me too. It would be fairly easy for me because my "dogs" are chihuahuas that weigh 4 and 7 lbs. For 1 year old chichiwawas they are pretty mellow, but still, that aint saying much. I have access to a hobie adventure island with full ammas and trampolines. My concern is that they will freeze thier mostly bald little butts off. Also the smaller one has about 0 fat on her and might sink like a rock. A few years ago I saw a guy on an adventure island at LJ shore. He got the ammas and trampolines out and then loaded up two of the biggest huskys I have ever seen. These dos had to wiegh a hundred ound each. Not lean dogs. Surf was small and off he went. All 3 of them looked totally stoked. Dude had rods with him too. Mike

chichiwawas yeah they would get cold real fast. May be if they made waders for them they stay warm. I was thinking of getting a dog. Cause it gets boring talking to my self and the lizard fish I catch.

She much rather swim and chase gulls, than stay on the yak......
