Rod selection

I got a Garcia REVO inshore comming in the mail and I'm looking for a rod to go with it. I wanna use it for bay fishing and lake bassin. I'll spool it with 15# spectra and change up the top shot accordingly. My boat is a 14 footer so I want at least a 7 footer to reach over the bow. Medium or medium/heavy.

I want to keep it in the low hundred dollar range. I was thinking a St. Croix triumph or a TFO Loomis signature from bass pros. I can also pickup a Lamiglass competitor from sports authority for less than 75 bucks.

Any other suggestions or deals out there?

I agree with oneyedeer one both points. First about bumpin the spectra up to at least a 20# or 30# braid. Especially if your gonna be lake bassin around any type of structure or felled trees. You'll appreciate the extra 15# of pull when a 10 dollar lure is stuck in a sunken christmas tree. Secondly, I own a shamano clarius spinning rod. Great great rod and super fast. as far as baitcasting rods I would suggest a fenwick venture. They fall way under your 100 dollar range and they are great rods. I have my 7" meium-heavy paired with a shimano calcutta 250 spooled with 50# powerpro. I hooked a thresher on this setup and my braided line snapped, not the rod. I was pretty impressed. I think this rod went for about 45 bucks? I also have a 6'6" version that is medium action and super fast that is great for bass and hali in the harbor. Hope this helps

Oh and fenwick has a lifetime no questions asked replacement policy. Just pay the shipping and they send you a new one

Saw last week that Turners' Kearney Mesa store had Shimano rods, clarus, crucial, and compre on clearance for 40% off. Might want to check on that.
