Newport pre-fishing report
Hit up the harbor this morning pretty late. Didn't launch until about 7:30 and was off the water by about 9:30. Just wanted to get a line wet and check my regular spots. Water was a nice 70º and kinda dirty. Not much water moving, but the wind was blowing pretty good out of the SW. I didn't want to mess with the fish too much so I didn't swing on any bites. Missed quite a few, but still managed 4 legals and some shorts over a pretty wide area. I fished my normal baits with Hot Sauce for normal results. Hopefully, Sat. will be the same.

So....
you had a late launch; fished for two hours; there was no water movement; you never set the hook; and you caught four legals... My money is on you to win the tourney...haha. Good luck!! Last edited by roby; 07-27-2011 at 05:33 PM. |

I wish Roby, I have a habit of blowing it in Newport. I usually kill in pre-fishing and choke during the event.
