Better late than never

I am finally getting around to posting this fish I caught a while back, as I have been in the Sierras and far away from a computer for the last few weeks.

I never got a certified weight, but he measured 46 inches to the fork. Myself and a few other people guessed he was around 45lbs, and he was noticeably bigger than a friend's yellow that came in at 38lbs. Whatever it weighed, I was stoked to get some blood stains on my new boat.

Tight lines...

Lets hook up in August when I get back from Maine. I am going to see if I can get some stripers.

Thanks, I used a 3/4 inch pvc in the sail mount with some duct tape as a shim, a 3/4" to 1.5" T fitting cut flat and mounted to a cutting board that the fish finder base is attached to. Then I painted it all black so it doesn't look like the ghetto PVC hack job that it is.

Stevooo, I did not do much fishing up there and don't have any fishing pics. Most of the lakes I like to fish were all frozen, but I did manage a mixed bag of small brooks, browns and rainbows in the creek one day. I also did some trolling in a friend's kayak at Twin Lakes in Bridgeport for some good sized stockies. I have some amazing scenery shots from a high country backpack trip though. I will try to post some up soon, but something tells me I have to pull an all nighter at LJ first.

Good times Darren !!

Things got a little dicey there for a minute, but you stayed focused, even with me hovering over your shoulder sayng "awww, you've been on this fish for too long it just a black...BUTTON DOWN THE DRAG!!!".....then we see the rod start to do the tell tail rythmic bounce as the yellow turns on its side and starts doing deep circle below the boat...."or a 50lb YT...you bastard!!!"

Darren didn't miss a beat and already had the gaff in his lap, while I stared in aww as this fish came to color.....before it even had a chance to try any typical YT surface antics like wraping up in the mirage drive or rudder, Darren sunk a perfect gaff shot, and had it on the game clip before I could blink.

As soon as I saw the gameclip snap shut I bailed, went right back over to the spot where Darren hooked up, and as soon as I got in the area, looked down at the meter and saw a double stack and a triple stack dissapearing from my screen and frantically dropped the sumo jr....

Like I said, GOOD TIMES!!!

PS. I also like the way you peddled all the way to the pier for the pic so the ambulance chasers couldn't triangulate the your honey hole's position....NICE!!!
