Launched before dawn to get the jump on bait, but only found 1 lonely mac.

Sometimes thats all you need to make it happen. I kept him safely in the bait tank until I reached the fishing ground in hopes of my best shot at a fish verses a seal mugging.

When I got on my mark I tenderly rigged him up and sent him into the abyss.

This fish laid on a good fight from deep water. He stayed deep and kept sounding for the bottom. The yak stayed pretty much in the same place.

After I gaffed him I think I found out why he fought so hard. There was a fairly new Owner Flyliner Hook w/ 24" of floro and a Squidco swivel down his throat. He had obviously broken someone off in the recent past and was going to try the same maneuver with me.

I also picked up a 7 lb. Bonita on the way home trolling a yozuri.
